OCAD University’s Summer Workshops are 5-day studio experiences for young creatives ages 15-19 who want to explore different techniques and create new work for their portfolios.

In this exciting week, you will work closely with OCAD U faculty that teach in our undergraduate programs, who will facilitate your time on our campus and in our studios to further develop your art and design skills.

Each day you will be in a specialized workshop that is tailored to help you expand both your skill and knowledge on contemporary art and design practice, by taking a hands-on, multi-disciplinary approach to the studio experience. These sessions are created to apply to any creative field, and will encourage you to explore and experiment with different tools, techniques, and practices.

During the Summer Workshops you will gain new skills across different mediums, materials and techniques including:

    • 2D media and graphic design
    • Observational drawing
    • Experimental photography through alternative darkroom processes
    • Sculpture and 3D fabrication in our shops and studios
    • Printmaking process through screen-printing
    • Artwork documentation
    • Portfolio preparation for post-secondary admissions

Refund policy: Participants are eligible for a full refund if a cancellation request is received at least 3 weeks prior to the start date of the registered workshop week. This allows us sufficient time to offer the spot to another student. All refund requests must be submitted directly via email to portfolioclinics@ocadu.ca
