Return to Summer Workshops Website

OCAD University’s Summer Workshops are week-long studio experiences dedicated to supporting your creative practice and artistic journey!

In this exciting week, you will work closely with OCAD U faculty that teach in our undergraduate programs, who will facilitate your time on our campus and in our studios to further develop your art and design practice.

Each day you will be in a specialized workshop that is tailored to help you expand both your skill and knowledge on contemporary art and design practice, by taking a hands-on, multi-disciplinary approach to the studio experience. These sessions are created to apply to any creative field, and push participants to explore and experiment with different tools, techniques, and practices.

The Summer Workshops are suitable for emerging artists and designers ages 15-19 looking to experiment in the studio to discover new concepts, materials and techniques.

A sneak peek of our program this summer includes:

    • A focus on materiality with 3D model and design in our shops and studios
    • Exploration of 2D media in digital programs and analogue forms
    • Expanded painting techniques with acrylic paint for representational subject matter
    • Observational drawing, brainstorming, and personal documentation
    • Experimental photography through alternative darkroom processes
