Drawing: Explorations

Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 9:30 AM until 12:30 PMEastern Daylight Time

Course Medium: Drawing (with Dry and Wet Mediums)
    About this Course:
Are you a drawing fanatic? Or do you simply wish you could draw better?
Learn step-by-step to make drawing easier. Beginners and advanced practitioners will find new techniques and skill-building opportunities in this course. Learn about portraiture, anatomy, action poses, rendering hands and feet, while also learning to apply ink, pencil, and watercolour to create realism. Make friends with likeminded creatives while sharing in a positive arts-based community during synchronous classes. You'll create lots of drawings for your portfolio--or simply for your own pleasure.

Remember: All levels of experience are welcome!

Erin Finley  is an artist and an award-winning educator. In 2018, she received OCADU's "Inspired Teaching Award" for her work with first-year students. She teaches first-year drawing in the Faculty of Art where she invites students to think and draw in new ways. In her own studio practice, she creates ink drawings, mixed media drawings, and work grounded in autobiography. Erin Finley has exhibited art internationally and, during the pandemic, her practice has taken on an exciting new direction: performing live drawings for virtual audiences. Over the past year, Finley has performed live virtual drawings for audiences at Utrecht University, University of Wisconsin, University of South Carolina, and the Global Institute for Research in Education. This summer, she will be presenting virtually at Birmingham University (Birmingham, England) and Carroll University (Wisconsin, USA).
