ArtworksTO will be hosting a Portfolio Prep workshop in collaboration with OCAD University for youth media artists: A Guide to Building a Strong Portfolio✨ As an artist entrepreneur, your portfolio must tell a compelling story about you! It’s what employers, clients, granting agencies, or educators look at to understand your skills, interests, and passions.
Hosted to support Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, and/or 2SLGTBQ+ youth (ages 18 - 29), this workshop will focus on how to craft your bio and artist statement, how to write about your creative work, tips on navigating your creative career from emerging creatives and the fundamentals of presenting a solid portfolio for education, employment and grants.About the facilitator: Maryanne Casasanta (she/her) is an artist educator and the Lead, Portfolio & Education Programs in Admissions and Recruitment at OCAD University.
